This is a beautiful poster featuring a work by Charles Hindenlang. It is an advertising for the Gotthard tunnel in 1940.
The poster is in a used condition with a long tear at the upper left corner, some rolling marks and a bit of foxing at the back. There are also signs of handling along the borders.
Charles Hindenlang (October 1, 1894 in Basel; † April 30, 1960, also Karl Hindenlang) was a Swiss painter and stained glass artist. Hindenlang belonged to the legendary anti-fascist Basel Group 33.
